FAQ
Q. How does EnergyGuard compare to a home warranty?
A: EnergyGuard is a bundled service that covers large-ticket items with no unexpected fees. Home warranties offer broader coverage, but come with annual premiums and service charges.
Q. Does EnergyGuard cover annual maintenance?
A: The EnergyGuard program only protects you from damage caused by the normal operation of your heating, cooling, and electrical systems. Customers are responsible for cleanings, annual tune-ups, and improvements designed to bring the system up to code.
Q. Does EnergyGuard cover pre-existing conditions?
A: We only repair and replace parts that malfunction after you join Agway Energy Services®. Problems that developed prior to your start date would have to be paid out of pocket.
Q. Can I receive service if I’m renting?
A: Residential customers are covered by EnergyGuard even if they’re leasing their house or apartment. However, you’ll need to secure the approval of your landlord before any work can be done. Small business customers need to own the building in order to have their system repaired.
Q. If I move, is my coverage transferable to the new homeowner or my new property?
A: The EnergyGuard program cannot be transferred. All customers must enroll their utility account with Agway Energy Services® to receive EnergyGuard benefits. If you move, please reach out to see if we can enroll your account at your new location.
