New York regulations require customers to provide express consent before a supply rate can be modified. That’s why you’ll receive written notices and follow-up calls when your agreement is approaching its expiration date. This is a legally mandated renewal requirement for New York customers.
As an Agway customer, renewing on time is important to maintain your Agway EnergyGuard® coverage.
Why You’re Receiving a Renewal Notice
The New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) requires energy suppliers to obtain a customer’s express consent before modifying a supply rate agreement. This means we cannot automatically renew your coverage at a new rate without your approval. When your agreement approaches its end date, we are required to send out renewal letters detailing your services and fees and to obtain your explicit consent to renew your energy agreement with an updated rate.

Renewal timing varies based on the type of energy service you receive. Review your renewal letter for your specific expiration date and renewal deadline.
Natural Gas Customers
Agreements for natural gas customers expire in May each year, regardless of enrollment date.
Electricity Customers
Agreements for electricity customers expire in November and May each year, regardless of enrollment date.
